At Messy Mansion, we consider ourselves somewhat of nail art gurus. Using nail image plates is fairly simple to begin with. However, there are several tips that can take your nails from looking just alright to absolutely fantastic!
Pick Colors That Will Compliment One Another If you really want your nails to “POP!” then use colors that are vastly different from one another. Complimentary colors are going to be your best bet, as your design will stick out from the rest of your nail. Using two different shades of green may render a nice result but your nail probably won’t be wowing anyone.
Use A Top Coat (Several Of Them Actually) Using a top coat can save you a ton of time and frustration. Once you have your base color on, we suggest applying 1-2 layers of top coat before you begin stamping. “Why?” you may ask. Well, if a stamp goes on crooked and you haven’t applied a top coat then you are out of luck and you will have to redo the entire nail, base coat and all. However, by applying a top coat before stamping, you can ensure that your base coat is safe, even if you do happen to get the placement of your stamp wrong. You can easily remove a less-than-perfect stamp design without affecting the base coat as long as you have opted for the top coat to begin with.
Q Tips Are Your Friends Let’s face it: mistakes are going to happen. Sometimes however, the solution is easier and far more accessible than you imagined. When it comes to fixing nail art mistakes, invest in a lot of Q Tips. These will also come in handy when you are attempting to remove excess stamped polish from your cuticles.
